download.jpg So I got accepted into the famous HNG internship which runs majorly in the summer of every year in this region of our sub-Haran Africa. This internship tends to bring aspiring developers, designers, and other technological inclined roles as the need may be, from different areas of the country. This program had always seemingly proved as challenging to partakers as it really tests you and brings out the best in you because of the regular tasks been assigned by the organizers. From the beginning to the prime of this 8 weeks challenge, I’ll be joining the backend track working with Nodejs and I’ll also be looking forward to accomplishing the following:

  • Strongly possess intellectual skills such that I would be able to solve problems faster and keep to the deadlines.

  • Connect and network with other developers.

  • Learn at least how software development is done in real-life applications.
  • Build my portfolio as a backend developer as a result of projects I’ll work on during the program. With all these been mentioned, to be able to cope with the cohort, you’ll need to be comfortable working with the following:

  • GIT: It’s basically a control versioning system that does help you manage and organize your code. You’ll need to have GIT installed in your system and also open a GitHub account to make your code available online for easy assessment, collaboration, and management from yourself and other developers. To get started, follow this link.

  • Figma: This tool helps in designing your web or mobile layout before implementing it in your text editor as code. It’s a very powerful design tool and also easy to start with. Follow this link to get started.

  • Html: It’s used to structure a website before applying your styles and functionality. To get started with Html, follow this link to get started.

  • Lastly, this internship comprises different tracks such as frontend, mobile development, backend development, DevOps, and so on.
